Individual works handpainted with natural dye pastes of several botanical dyes including: Cutch, Eastern Brazilwood, Madder, Pomegranate, Buckthorn, Weld, and Cochineal.
The inspiration for this series are Mexican Talavera tiles and Fiesta paper star and garland geometry found throughout homes in San Antonio. During Fiesta the center city celebrates through galas, day parades, night parades, river float parades, house parties, art fairs and music festivals for 10 days straight raising money for local charities, non-profits, and educational scholarships. These individual prints celebrate the bright colors, tradition, and celebratory order within chaos feel of homes at this time of year.
